New York Comedy Festival 2007
Other
events in November 2007
November 06 - 11, 2007
The New York Comedy Festival, held at venues across the city, is devoted entirely to comedy filmmaking. Aimed at "celebrating the people who make us laugh", the event screens new and upcoming comedy features and shorts. There are also appearances from leading lights of the US comedy circuit and a portion of the proceeds go to charity.
Founded in 2004, the festival usually screens both smaller flicks which have yet to find distribution and independents with major backers. There are also discussions and seminars, which in the past have featured people like the Farrelly Brothers (the writer-directors behind There's Something About Mary) and South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
The 2007 line-up includes the likes of Damon Wayans, Artie Lang, Seth MacFarlane, Bill Maher, Sarah Silverman, Denis Leary and Louis CK

In popular culture 'The Bronx' has often symbolized violence, decay, and urban ruin. In fact, there are guidebooks that say you must never go to the Bronx! Sheer ignorance, that is all we have to say! Interactive Bronx map
